Aromatherapy can be understood in a biochemical sense, knowing the chemical components of essential oils and their effects on the body. There is also a psychological component – the emotional effects of essential oils based on scent and interaction with our olfactory system. Finally, there is the effect of plant energetics, known as “subtle aromatherapy”.
Energy, Qi, prana – the concept has been applied throughout the centuries and across cultures in various therapeutic practices. Humans, and all matter, have unique vibrational fields that interact and influence each other. This is the basis of energy therapy.
Aromatherapy is a holistic practice that offers physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits. All aspects are taken into consideration, in addition to understanding each unique individual, when creating custom blends.

Aromatherapy massage combines massage techniques with the therapeutic properties of essential oils, hailing from the techniques developed by Margarite Maury and Madame Micheline Arcier. The focus is on the lymphatic and nervous systems, including the full body and head. With a large portion dedicated to the pressure points along the spine, aroma massage has a strong effect on the autonomic nervous system, inducing deep relaxation. Some of the benefits include: improvement in circulation, reducing fluid retention, encouraging sinus drainage, reducing tension and inflammation, and overall rebalancing of energy flow throughout the body.
During an aromatherapy massage, you both inhale the essential oils and absorb them through your skin. Its main focus is relaxation and mindfulness.

This holistic practice brings the body back into balance through the application of specific pressure techniques to the feet. Different pressure points on the foot (reflexes) correspond to various parts of the body, via the nervous system. Reflexology helps to relieve stress and tension, improves circulation and promotes the natural functioning of the body, stimulating its own healing potential. Modern reflexology was developed primarily in the Western world, however similar techniques have been used for thousands of years (for example, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture).
